Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RoCo) and the National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House (Anthony Museum) jointly present this special request for proposals as part of major women’s rights anniversaries being celebrated next year. 2020 marks the 200th birthday of human rights activist Susan B. Anthony and the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment. We seek proposals for a site-specific public art project that celebrates, acknowledges, and remembers these anniversaries, while also challenging audiences to think about voting and civic engagement. Proposals for works that prompt visitors to return multiple times to experience changes in the piece are encouraged. RoCo welcomes visual artists, sculptors, sound artists, performing artists, photographers, filmmakers, and others to submit a proposal.
Deadline: 5pm (EST) January 31, 2020
This program is open to artists in the Greater Rochester area, New York artists, and national artists. Artists who have exhibited in other exhibitions at RoCo are eligible to apply. For more information and application instructions, visit the Rochester Contemporary Art Center’s website.
