Arts and Healthcare

In 2017, RISCA partnered with the Rhode Island Department of Health and the Brown School of Public Health to investigate how the arts can positively impact health, and can work in concert with clinical practices. An arts and health planning process was guided by a 25-member community advisory group, and the Brown School of Public Health was engaged to look at current evidence in the field of arts and health. A new grant category was begun at RISCA to support this initiative. A strategic plan for arts and health is expected in the fall of 2018.
