Inspired by a Los Angeles based event, Hera launched its first Draw–a–go–go in the summer of 2017 with 63 participating professional artists who generously donated an hour of their time and talent to support the arts in Southern RI. As a result of great creative energy and a spirited audience the event was a big success!
Draw–a–go–go 2018
When: Sunday, July 22nd
Where: Whalers Brewing Tasting Room
Time: 3-6:30pm
Like last year, the participating artists will be divided into 3 groups working for 1 hour each. The public will have the opportunity to watch artists at work. At the end of each hour the freshly drawn pieces will be put up for sale at $50 each. (Work that doesn’t sell will be kept by Hera to be sold at a later date in support of the gallery).
It is entirely up to the individual artists how they want to use their hour. We greatly appreciate fellow artists supporting our mission and don’t want to turn this into a speed drawing competition. We like you to come, create along fellow artists, meet new artists and art lovers, get promoted, listen to music, have a drink and enjoy a fun, creative Sunday afternoon in good company.
Hera will provide paper and simple drawing supplies. Artists are welcome to bring their own materials as well. The only restriction is that the artwork needs to be able to fit into a clear, flat 11″ x 17″ envelope.
