NEW RFP OPEN FOR GREAT STREETS ROTATING MURAL SERIES
UAC and the City of Memphis’ Engineering Division are commissioning a temporary, rotating mural series at the intersection of Peabody Place and Main Street downtown. Murals will rotate every three months over the course of one year.
UAC and the City of Memphis are interested in designs that will express a Memphis-centric message and inspire activation & pedestrian traffic around the mural site. The commissioned artist will be selected based on quality of the design, with special consideration being made to emerging artists looking to expand their practice to the public realm. This mural series presents an excellent opportunity for artists new to public art to gain firsthand experience in the field! Deadline to apply is 11:59PM CT Thursday, June 29, 2017.

UAC and the Downtown Memphis Commission (DMC) are commissioning a lighting and mural installation that will positively impact existing conditions of the I-40 underpass at North Main Street. The selection committee expresses an interest in a public art piece that will provide a welcoming atmosphere that encourages pedestrians to move from Downtown into the Pinch and vice versa, embed elements within the installation that will be visible during the day as well as night, and create an experience that residents and tourists will want to revisit. Join the UAC team! UAC is accepting applications for a full time project manager position. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned public art/design projects. The Public Art Project Manager works with the Executive Director and Project Management Team in facilitating planning, design, and implementation of a variety of public art projects for the City of Memphis Public Art Program and private clients. The Project Manager implements effective tracking systems for recording and reporting project activities, including contracting and billing, monitoring project progress, and overall adherence to program guidelines.
