In September, Maggie Anderson, RISCA’s Arts in Education Director, was elected Secretary and appointed to the Executive Board of the State Education Agency Directors of Arts Education (SEADAE) . SEADAE consists of those persons at state education agencies whose responsibility is education in the arts (Dance, Media Arts, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts). Maggie has been representing RI as a SEADAE member since May of 2018. The organization provides a collective voice for leadership on issues affecting arts education nationally. Until Maggie’s appointment, RI did not have SEADAE representation.
Congratulations to Maggie on this honor, and thank you for your work ensuring that RI has a prominent voice at the table where national arts education policy is being discussed and developed!
