Most commonly, demographics are socioeconomic information expressed statistically, such as age, race, education or income. Our main source of demographic information about communities comes from the U.S. Census.

Here are a few free resources that can help you when discussing the demographics of your community:

  • United States Zip Codes: this resource allows you to explore demographics by specific zip codes.
  • United States Census: The Census Bureau provides a lot of information, which can be overwhelming! We recommend starting with this page, and exploring Data Profiles. You can search data profiles by U.S. standard Zip codes; you can also search by town/city, state, etc.
