Help contribute to Arts Education in Providence Public Schools – AmeriCorps position available beginning August, 2017 through July, 2018.
Providence CityArts seeks full time and half time Teaching Artists to join our AmeriCorps Turnaround Teaching Artist Project (TTAP) team. This program is the only AmeriCorps program in the state to assign a corps of teaching artists to enrich student learning in and through the arts. TTAP members serve as resident artists in Priority Providence Public Middle Schools, using STEAM, arts literacy and Design Thinking project based learning to increase habits of engagement in their school day learning environment; as well as in after school arts programs.
Full Time volunteers: Yearly living allowance of $12,630. Upon completion of 1700 hours of service there is an education award of $5,815. For volunteers 55 years of age or older, awards are transferable to children, foster children and grandchildren.
Half Time volunteers: Living stipend of $5,600, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Upon the successful completion of 900 service hours there is an education award of $2,907. Other AmeriCorps benefits include loan forbearance. For volunteers 55 and older, awards are transferable to children, foster children and grandchildren.
