The Pawtucket Arts Collaborative is pleased to announce an Open Call to artists working in all media for “Faces and Figures,” a juried exhibition to showcase art of the human face and of the human figure.
The human face and figure are among the most enduring subjects of artistic creativity from prehistoric times to the present. Mastering their depiction is a mainstay of artistic training. Contemporary interpretations in every medium challenge and engage artists worldwide. Whether drawn, painted, sculpted, etched, stitched, molded, printed, photographed, collaged, assemblaged, or tattooed, the human figure in art is both intensely personal and universal as an expression of the human experience.

JUROR Robin Wiseman. An artist and professor of art at RISD and Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Wiseman also teaches at the high school, college and continuing education levels. He holds degrees from RISD and UMass-Dartmouth and his studio is in Providence, RI.

ELIGIBILITY This exhibition is juried and open to all artists. Works in all media are welcome: 2-D and 3-D, figurative and abstract. Not to exceed 60” in any dimension. Maximum of two entries. Artist names will not be viewable to Juror. All selected artwork to be hand-delivered to the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative Mill Gallery, 560 Mineral Spring Avenue, Pawtucket, RI on September 22, 23.
IMPORTANT DATES September 9 – Online application deadline, midnight September 19 – Email notification to artists September 22/23 – Delivery of work to the PAC Mill Gallery. Friday 9/22 from 5 – 7 pm and Saturday 9/23 from 10 am to noon. September 28 – Opening Reception 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Awards announced at the opening. November 3, 4 – Pick up of artist work from the PAC Mill Gallery.
ENTRY FEE PAC members: $15 for one digital entry; $20 for two. Non-PAC members: $20 for one digital entry; $25 for two. All artists welcome. Artists do not need to be PAC members. You may use PayPal online or pay by check. Mail check made out to Pawtucket Arts Collaborative to: PO Box 966, Pawtucket, Rhode Island 02862. Checks must be received by deadline.
SALES A 30% commission of the artist’s stated sales price will be taken by the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative. PAC will reimburse artists for sold works within a week after purchase. There is no sales tax on works of art sold in Rhode Island. Artwork must remain installed for the duration of the exhibition. Copies of artist’s statement and bio are given with every sale and both are available in a binder for the interest of gallery visitors.
